Before I had Alayna I had some concerns about Mason.
He was showing me signs that he may have some special needs.
I couldn't pinpoint it to the exact detail but I knew as his mother I needed
to look more into my concerns.
I also thought alot about Maddison and her speech needs.
Many people told me she was fine.
However a mother's instict is usually right.
Sure enough with Maddison I was right,
she needed help with her speech.
So now within the last few months we've had Mason tested.
He is one smart little guy!
He tested above average on his cognitive development.
I was so proud of him and how well he did on his testing.
However he didn't score well in other areas of his test.
He scored below normal on the social and emotional development
and was border line on his speech.
He has started working with an Early Childhood Teacher
who will come to the house once per week
until he is old enough to go to preschool
or he develops the skills he needs to.
He didn't score low enough to have speech help but low enough
that his teacher will be getting a few ideas from the speech teacher
and we'll be watching to make sure his speech gets better and not worse.
But over all I have learned that no matter what a mother
should always follow her motherly insticts!
Mason will always be my spcecial little boy
and we love him no matter what crazy obsticals he takes us threw.
Oh and we even love him when he has his sleepless nights
(which are many)!
He loves being a big brother!
He loves holding his sister Alayna too!
Helping with a quick sponge bath!
